The legendary NBA player Kobe Bryant, and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna Bryant, died in a helicopter crash on January 26, 2020, in Southern California. As reports, seven other people died in the tragic event. Gianna, also known as “Gigi,” was the second daughter of late Kobe and his wife, Vanessa Bryant.

Bryant was serving as her coach as well. Gigi would be one of the finest athletes if they lived more, and Kobe would be so proud.

Tragic Death Of Gianna Bryant

On January 26, 2020, Kobe and his daughter and seven passengers were heading to Thousand Oaks for a basketball game. Unfortunately, the helicopter crashed into a hillside in Calabasas, California. The helicopter crash caused a brush fire and killed all nine people aboard.

As per sources, the visibility was extremely low at the crash. After crashing, the helicopter broke into pieces, creating a debris field. After the tragic event, several personalities and athletes worldwide paid tribute to the legendary Kobe Bryant.

Gianna Dreamed of continuing her Father’s Legacy

On May 1, 2006, Gianna was born in Orange County, California. She was the second daughter of Kobe Bryant and Vanessa.

Gigi’s elder sister is Natalia (b: 2013) and had two younger sisters, Bianka (b: 2016)and Capri (b: 2019). Gigi had a special bond with Kobe, which we can see through the late NBA legend’s social media.

Gianna’s grandfather, Joe Bryant, is also a retired Professional basketball Player. Gigi has already decided to play professional basketball. Kobe coached her and took her to basketball games often.

Gianna played in her father’s Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks. Upcoming May 2020, Gigi would have been 14-years-old. Another basketball star, LeBron James, might as well coach his daughter, Zhuri James, for her career in the WNBA.

Gianna’s mother, Vanessa, is a former American model and video vixen Actress. She has been featured in various music videos during her early career. Vanessa and Kobe married just after six months of meeting on April 18, 2001. Altogether, the couple had four daughters.

Kobe, then 21-year-old, first met the Love of his Life, then 17-year-old Vanessa Laine, in November 1999. They married in April 2001 at St. Edward Confessor Catholic Church in California. At the time, Bryant’s parents were opposed to the marriage and didn’t attend the wedding.

How was Gianna’s Parents’ Relationship?

Although Kobe and Vanessa were in Love, they once decided to split. On December 16, 2011, Vanessa filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

However, the couple requested joint custody of their daughters. Kobe and Vanessa were living apart on their own, but on January 11, 2013, the couple called off their divorce and started living together. Kobe and Vanessa were living a happy Life, along with their children.

The world was shocked to hear about the legendary player’s death. People around the world and Kobe’s family are deeply devastated, especially his now widow wife and young children. The couple was very happy together until Kobe and Gianna’s death on January 26, 2020.

Bryant’s Basketball Career 

Gianna aspired to follow in the footsteps of her successful father’sfatheriversity of Connecticut recruiting her as per WSJ. Gianna had the dream of playing for the Women’s National Basketball Association.

In a recent game, Gianna had executed the fadeaway shot and made a headline for a few days. Sadly, her dream will always remain a dream from now onward.
