The musician was born on July 10, 1989, in Stockholm, Sweden, to Vera Stevens and Magnus Akerman. Her mother, Vera, is the founder of the clothing store Vera Velour. Jennifer is also known as the younger sister of actress Malin Akerman. Malin has starred in movies and TV series such as Watchmen, Billions, Childrens Hospital, etc. The 44 aged Malin is married to her husband, John Donnelly.

Following four years long engagement, Tom proposed to his girlfriend, Jennifer, in November 2018. Later, in January 2019, the couple shared the images from their engagement party, which they celebrated at Pinches Tacos, a restaurant in Los Angeles.

Jennifer and Tom tied the wedding knot in Los Angeles, California, on December 21, 2020. The engaged pair were planning to exchange their wedding vowed in April 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown, the couple postponed their marriage and wedded in December.

Jennifer announced their marriage via Instagram, writing, “Last night me and the love of my life got married !!! After having to cancel our wedding back in April and not knowing how long the world will be under lockdown, we felt like we still wanted to end this year as husband and wife, so we did. I love you so much, and I’m so excited to spend the rest of my life with you.”
