On July 13, 2015, at the age of 64, Joan Sebastian passed away at his ranch in Cruz de la Sierra, Teacalco Guerrero, Mexico, due to complications related to bone cancer. His final resting place is in a cemetery in Juliantla, near his son Trigo, who had also tragically passed away.
