Lucy Liu is an American actress who has established herself as one of the prominent Hollywood’s leading stars. She is best known for her work in movies such as Payback, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, Kill Bill, Set It Up, etc.

Lucy Liu’s Early Life

On December 2, 1968, Lucy was born in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York, the U.S. The 51-year-old actress has Chinese ancestry and belongs to Asian-American nationality.

Her mother, Cecilia, was a biochemist, while her father, Tom Liu, was a civil engineer. She has two older siblings, a brother named John and a sister, Jenny. Further, her parents emigrated from Taiwan to New York.

Following the birth of her son, many people were concerned about the father. However, in a statement with Yahoo Celebrity, she said:

“I’m a single mother who had a baby through a gestational carrier, and I know that people had opinions about how it was done. And I think it’s really important that people also embrace that it’s not about those details, it’s about how you carry on from the point of having your child and loving your family.”

So why did Liu wait so long to have a child? Well, the actress has been working with UNICEF for over a decade. She once said that due to her passion for work, the idea of starting a family never occurred. However, Lucy wanted to embrace motherhood. Therefore, at the age of 46, she gave birth to a boy.

Not only Lucy but several women in Hollywood became a mother in their late 40s. For example, actress Laura Linney gave birth at 49.

Lucy has never been Married.

The beautiful actress has been in romantic relationships in the past. She dated several men but never tied the knot. She was once engaged to American writer and director Zach Helm in 2004. However, the former couple split their ways without mentioning any reason.

Afterward, Lucy fell in love with actor Will McCormack. They dated from 2004 until 2007. As per sources, Liu’s relationship with Israeli-American tycoon Noam Gottesman was very serious. She wanted to make Noam her husband, but things didn’t work out. They briefly dated in 2014. Since then, Liu has been single, and currently, she is busy raising her son.
